USDA Weekly Export Sales Highlights
(WASHINGTON, DC) Highlights from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Weekly Export Sales Report based upon information from the Foreign Ag Service (FAS) for the week ending September 6, 2019
* WHEAT: Exports of 558,900 MT were 27 percent higher than last week and 6 percent. The primary destinations were the Philippines (156,700 MT), Mexico (111,900 MT), Colombia (68,400 MT), Taiwan (42,500 MT), and Honduras (35,200 MT).
* CORN: Exports saw a 38 percent reduction from the previous week (382,000 MT). Mexico (237,900 MT) was the top destination, though Japan (49,000 MT), Costa Rica (30,500 MT), Colombia (19,000 MT), and Jamaica (14,100 MT) took delivery as well.
* SORGHUM: Exports increased more than 174 percent (52,400 MT) from last week with China the top destination (51,600 MT) while Mexico (600 MT), and South Korea (200 MT) combined for small shipments for the week.
* SOYBEANS: Exports of almost 1.2 million metric tons (1,196,500 MT) were 37 percent higher than the previous week. China took nearly 236 thousand metric tons more (780,400 MT), and Mexico (72,400 MT) remained about steady with last weeks pace. On the other hand, Indonesia (147,900 MT), Pakistan (59,500 MT), and Colombia (38,600 MT) jumped back in as customers for the first time this month.
* COTTON: Exports jumped 35 percent (230,000 RB) from last week thanks to Vietnam (61,800 RB) and Indonesia (29,300 RB) almost doubling their deliveries. Turkey (23,600 RB), Bangladesh (22,100 RB), and India (16,000 RB) also imported more from the U.S. than in the previous week.
* BEEF: Exports of 16,300 MT were seven percent higher than the previous week. Destinations were primarily Japan (4,700 MT), South Korea (4,000 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT), Taiwan (1,400 MT), and Hong Kong (1,200 MT).
* PORK: Exports of 24,400 MT were off three percent from last week as the primary buyers were Mexico (7,100 MT), China (6,800 MT), Japan (3,200 MT), South Korea (1,900 MT), and Canada (1,800 MT).
