USDA Extending Deadline for Quality Loss Adjustment Program

WASHINGTON, DC – USDA is extending the deadline for producers interested in applying for the Quality Loss Adjustment Program (QLA) from March 5, 2021 to April 9, 2021. The program, which began in January, is available to producers suffering from a qualifying disaster event or related condition that occurred in calendar years 2018 and/or 2019. QLA assists producers whose eligible crops suffered quality losses due to qualifying drought, excessive moisture, flooding, hurricanes, snowstorms, tornadoes, typhoons, volcanic activity, or wildfires. The Farm Service Agency (FSA) will issue payments once the application period ends and if the demand is greater than the funding, FSA will prorate the payments. Details are available at Farmers.gov/quality-loss.
