USDA Encouraging Producers to Sign Up for CFAP-2
WASHINGTON, DC – USDA is implementing updates to the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) for farmers and ranchers who faced market disruptions in 2020 due to COVID-19. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack announced an expansion of CFAP last month and said it is part of a larger effort to reach a greater share of farming operations while improving USDA’s pandemic assistance. So if you owned livestock or produced any row or specialty crop in 2020, you may be eligible for financial assistance through CFAP-2, as part of USDA’s new Pandemic Assistance for Producers initiative.
