U.S. Tractor and Combine Sales Soar in August
(MILWAUKEE, WI) Equipment manufacturers are cautiously optimistic after the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) reported more domestic tractors were sold in August this year than one year ago. Four-wheel drive tractor sales increased more than 19 percent year over year, while sales of 100-plus horsepower tractors jumped nearly 14 percent. Smaller tractor sales saw modest increases. The smallest category, under 40 horsepower, increased two percent and sales of 40 to 100 horsepower tractors fell just over one percent. In addition, manufacturers saw an uptick in harvesting sales as dealers sold 11.5 percent more combines last month than in the same period of 2018.
