U.S. Tractor and Combine Sales Continue to Grow
MILWAUKEE, WI – Farm tractor sales in the U.S. are off to a good start according to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). The latest data show total farm tractor sales in January increased nearly 25 percent above the same time last year, but the largest gains continue to be found in the small utility category (under 40 horsepower), with a 33 percent increase over 2020 sales. Last year, large tractor sales (representing more than 100 horsepower) increased 3 percent for the entire 12 months of 2020 and in January continued to build on that success with another 1 percent growth for the month. Four-wheel drive tractor delivered solid gains, up almost 34 percent, and combine sales experienced a huge 77 percent increase.
