Trump Names New Director to Head USDA’s NIFA
WASHINGTON, DC – Last year, USDA began the process of relocating the majority of jobs for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) from Washington, DC to Kansas City, Missouri. That effort was led by Dr. Scott Angle, the Director of NIFA. After Angle left in July, NIFA has been headed by an acting director. That is changing today after President Trump announced that Dr. Carrie Castille will be the new director beginning January 4, 2021. NIFA’s mission is to invest in and advance agricultural research, education, and extension to solve societal challenges.
