Situation Worsening: African Swine Fever Hits Fourth Country
(ROME, ITALY) African swine fever (ASF) is a fatal animal disease affecting pigs and wild boars with up to 100% mortality and is currently wreaking havoc on Southeast Asia. According to the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Cambodia becomes the fourth country hit by the disease. On Friday the FAO also reported additional outbreaks across China and Vietnam as more than 1.2 million pigs have died are been culled in an effort to reign in the disease.
