Senate Finance Committee Taking Up USMCA This Week

WASHINGTON, DC – With the House of Representatives approving the new USMCA trade deal before the Christmas recess, all eyes now move to the Senate for consideration. The deal, if approved, will replace a 25-year-old North American Free Trade Agreement and expand market access for U.S. agricultural products in the North American market while providing a 21st-century blueprint for future trade deals. The Senate Finance Committee has scheduled a markup Tuesday and it is expected to pass the full Senate later this month or in February.
