Program Developed to Aid in On-Farm Biosecurity Plans
AMARILLO, TX – As China and Southeast Asia continue to reel from the devastating impact of an African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak and the U.S. beef industry deals with some of the issues associated with a viral pandemic, cattle producers might want to know how to implement some biosecurity measures on their operations. In collaboration with USDA and its Secure Beef Supply plan, the Beef Checkoff-funded Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program recently developed a Daily Biosecurity Plan for Disease Prevention template which is designed to give producers flexibility in developing good biosecurity measures on their operations. The template is available online and covers everything from animal movement to worker training. Find out more at SecureBeef.org.
