Lame-duck Request: Extend Temporary Tax Provisions for Agriculture
WASHINGTON, DC – With only a handful of days remaining in the current 116th legislative session, groups like the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) and others are urging Congress to extend temporary tax provisions. The tax provisions are more commonly referred to as “tax extenders” and expire at the end of every year. According to AFBF, some of the 30-plus tax credits include relief for second-generation biofuel production, alternative fuel and fuel mixtures, wind, and solar development, and craft breweries, wineries, and distilleries. More than 60 groups signed the letter representing a wide range of business, energy, transportation, community development, and agricultural interests.
