Ethanol Production Increasing, Percentage Blended With Gasoline Decreasing

(WASHINGTON, DC) Ethanol production increased 3,000 barrels per day to an average of just over one million barrels per day, or 42 million gallons daily. The four-week average eased to an annualized rate of 15.25 billion gallons, which represents the smallest 4-week average production rate in two years. Stocks of ethanol tapered for the second straight week, and for the 21st consecutive week, there have been no imports according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand however, daily ethanol production declined to a little more than ten percent – the lowest level in 18 months.
