Consumers Increasing Dairy Consumption for Third Consecutive Year
ARLINGTON, VA – Got Milk? According to the latest data, the answer is simply… yes.
The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) believes that for the third consecutive year, Americans will increase their per-person consumption of dairy products.
It appears that a small uptick in yogurt, an increase in butter (at its highest level in 50 years), and growth in the ice cream market are helping derive demand up to an average of 655 pounds per person, a slight 2-pound increase over 2019 levels.
Also aiding in the strength of the domestic dairy industry, fluid milk demand has remained steady despite some early season supply chain disruptions.
