CFAP-2 Payments Cross $10 Billion Mark, Deadline Approaching

WASHINGTON, DC – USDA’s Second Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP-2) has doled out more than $10 billion according to the latest data available from the Farm Service Agency (FSA). Row crop producers have received 49 percent of the disbursements, with livestock accepting 27 percent and dairy producers getting just under 10 percent. So far Iowa tops the list with $994 million in payments, Nebraska is second with $723 million and Minnesota is third with $691 million. Illinois and California round out the top five states in total payments. In addition, CFAP-2 payments to producers in Kansas, Texas, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota, help these states make the top ten list for the program that provides producers with financial assistance to absorb some of the increased marketing costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline to apply for CFAP-2 assistance is December 11, 2020.
