Biden’s Executive Order on Regulations Halts CFAP Payments
WASHINGTON, DC – As one of President Biden’s first executive orders, he directed a Regulatory Freeze Pending Review which in simple, stops any major actions taken over the past month at the Federal level from moving forward. For agriculture, it is putting an immediate halt to the processing and payments under the latest Coronavirus Food Assistance Program — Additional Assistance (CFAP) measure announced in mid-January by USDA. The program provided modifications to earlier CFAP programs providing additional payments and provisions, especially to livestock producers. Local Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices will continue to accept applications during the evaluation period but no payments will be made.
