Fireworks Possible During Cattle Industry Convention in Houston
HOUSTON, TX – The countdown continues for the Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show to be held for the first time ever in Houston.
Ironically, the city known for NASA and America’s space program will host an event that’s sure to be full of fireworks, as cattle producers from across the country gather to discuss the industry’s most pressing issues and to debate policy priorities for the upcoming year.
The hottest topic will most likely be the ongoing debate on how to find more equity for beef producers in a time when packers and processors are hitting all-time record high profits.
Some in the industry have been calling on Congress and the Biden Administration to force packers to change the way they purchase cattle, and even to break up the big four processors in response to allegations of monopolistic behavior. Others however are working to find an industry-wide solution to the transparency and unfair trade practices.
Registration is underway for the event to be held in downtown Houston on February 1-3, 2022. Find out more here: https://convention.ncba.org/general-information
