Exports Showing Mixed Bag In 4-Week Sales

WASHINGTON, DC – For wheat, Net sales were down noticeably from the previous week, but up 55 percent from the prior 4-week average on increases primarily for Mexico, Taiwan, and Japan. Exports were up 20 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average. Net corn sales of were up 18 percent from the previous week, but down 75 percent from the prior 4-week average on new purchases from Mexico, South Korea, and Japan. Exports were down 12 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Sorghum net sales were down 99 percent from the previous week and 97 percent from the prior 4-week average. Exports were down 70 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average with all sales and shipments to China.

Soybean sales were down 29 percent from the previous week, but up 25 percent from the prior 4-week average for Japan, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. Exports hit another marketing-year low, down 45 percent from the previous week and 47 percent from the prior 4-week averages the primary destinations were Mexico, Japan, and China.

Sales of cotton were down 16 percent from the previous week and 44 percent from the prior 4-week average as China returned as the top buyer, followed by Vietnam, and Turkey.
