Lamb Exports Grow in Both Volume and Value

DENVER, CO – According to the latest information from USDA for the month of September, U.S. lamb exports were higher in both volume and value. September exports of U.S. lamb were higher than a year ago in both volume (1,971 mt, up 37%) and value ($2 million, up 13%). Driven by strong demand in Mexico, January-September exports increased 36% to 16,399 mt, though value was down 1% to $19 million. In addition to Mexico, lamb muscle cut exports increased to Bermuda, Hong Kong, Japan and Kuwait.
