Walmart Now Fully Immersed in Beef Supply Chain
THOMASVILLE, GA – Walmart is now not only in the retail end of the beef market but now they’re also immersed in the supply chain. Last week, the world’s largest brick and mortar retailer opened a case-ready facility showcasing their Angus beef and will roll out the products to 500 stores across Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. The company says they are working with Texas rancher, Bob McClaren of Prime Pursuits. The cattle are finished at the Mc6 feedlot in the Texas Panhandle and harvested at Creekstone Farms in Kansas. “Our new Angus beef supply chain is a perfect example of Walmart’s dedication to bringing customers high-quality food at a great price,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, Meat, Walmart U.S. “By enlisting a number of top companies to take part in our Angus beef supply chain, including FLP foods, which operates the facility we’re proud to open today we’ll be able to provide customers with unprecedented transparency throughout the supply chain and leverage the learning we gain across our business.”
