Domestic Ethanol Production Increasing, Inventories Continue to Fall

WASHINGTON, DC – Ethanol production increased 2.5 percent last week, to 1.06 million barrels per day to 44.5 million gallons daily. The four-week average ethanol production rate rose by 1.4 percent to 15.86 billion gallons, but still 2 percent lower than one year ago. Ethanol stocks shrank to 20.3 million barrels, the lowest volume since January 2017 and inventories were 12 percent lower than the same week last year. Imports of ethanol arriving into the West Coast were 10.6 million gallons for the week. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production increased to 11.5 percent according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration and compiled by the Renewable Fuels Association.
