2022 Cattle Prices Increasing at Least 10 Percent
LUBBOCK, TX – The cattle industry is starting 2022 in a very good place, explains Dr. Derrell Peel, Oklahoma State University Livestock Marketing Specialist.
Actually, he says, “We spent a lot of 2021 getting all of the ducks in a row, but they’re there and so we’re in a pretty good place to begin the year”.
There’s a good amount of optimism for prices as well as Peel mentions prices around 10 percent higher for the year, compared to last year, if not higher for some classes of cattle.
The question he says is not whether prices will be higher this year but rather how much higher as we go throughout the year.
